Legal Research

There were a few Law Library videos on UTube, although none that were that great.  Maybe I’ll make the first great one, LOL.  I did find this one from Buffalo New York that was somewhat informative.

RSS & Wiki

October 17, 2008

I realized that perhaps I have not been completely keeping up as I thought I was.  I have not posted to my Blog since the beginning.  I have enjoyed this class completely and am almost overwhelmed at time with the potential possibilities.

I really enjoyed the RSS week.  However I am still frustrated as to why I can not connect my feed to my blog correctly?  I have spent a lot of time probably to much trying to figure this out.  Also I have looked over “Participants RSS feeds”  and  don’t know why I can not get mine to look like the others.  If I click on the code I have posted in my Blog it does take me to a page that looks the same, ugh.  Open to any suggestions.  I rally want to figure this out before the end of this class.

I enjoyed the Wiki’s and can defiantly see the use within groups.  I am really looking for war to the podcast & video this week.  I have enjoyed the video instruction we have had in this class and found it to be extremely helpful.  I am curious to the many suggestions everyone will come up with.

Looking forward to the next couple of weeks

Introduction

September 15, 2008

Hello and Welcome All:

My name is Ami.  I am very excited about this class and look forward to working with everyone.  I work part-time in the Plymouth Law Library as a part-time assistant to Head Law Librarian and Law Library Assistant.  I also work two other jobs and I am working on my bachelors’ degree.   I am what they kindly call a non-traditional student.  I went back to school just before turning 40 after twenty something years in the restaurant industry.  I graduated Suma Cum Laude in January 2008 from Quincy College with an Associates Degree in legal studies and will graduate from Curry College in May 2009 with a Bachelors’ Degree in criminal justice. It is my intention to go on to earn my Masters Degree in Library Sciences.  While at  Quincy College I was fortunate to be chosen for an internship at the Plymouth Law Library.  Working with Louise Hoagland, head law librarian, and Stephanie Bold, law librarian assistant, has been an overwhelmingly rewarding experience for me.  I was extremely fortunate when I was offered a part-time position in the Plymouth Law Library in January.   I love working at the Law Library and all that it entails each and every day is a new learning experience for me.  I have been encouraged by both Louise and Stephanie to participate in this class and although I am new to working in the library system, I am excited to learn, open to new ideas.

I look forward to the weeks ahead and working with everyone.
